There’s a reason why I call it one of my favourites. While the road route is rough with sharp hairpin turns, you are undoubtedly going to enjoy the picturesque beauty of the virgin forests on the way from Tezpur to Bhalukpong. Bhalukpong Police Checkpost is the place where you can cross Assam border to enter Arunachal Pradesh. Its 8-9 hours of long journey from Guwahati to Bhalukpong by road. Later, the journey to Tawang begins as you cross Bhalukpong.
When in Tawang, you simply cannot afford to miss the delicious butter tea along with morning prayers at the second largest monastery in the world (Galden Namgyal Lhatse Monastery). Don’t forget to participate & celebrate Tawang festival. Also, explore lesser-known festivals of north east india.
